Baltimore Advisory Board Chairperson Stefanie Anders, Director of Marketing , Glass Jacobson Stefanie Anders is a graduate of Goucher College, with a degree in Music and History. After a career as a Regional Sales Manager for the Vodafone Group in Great Britain for 10 years, Ms. Anders returned to the United States in 1999. Ms. Anders’ years of experience in relationship selling and Networking brought her to Glass Jacobson, a wealth Management firm in Owings Mills, MD where she is currently the Director of Marketing. She has built a very strong network of business associates, and has helped many real estate investors receive real estate accounting advice from her firm, one of the top noted firms for real estate investment. Ms. Anders has a 12 year old Step Son named Daniel, and a 21/2 year old daughter named Sunny that truly lives up to her name. Founder and President Dawn Sheehan, Senior Sales Manager, Express Real Estate Auctions dsheehan@expressauction.com 410-737-1500 Ms. Sheehan moved to Baltimore from Massachusetts at the age of 10. As a student at UMBC, Ms. Sheehan was the Writing Lab Supervisor, Student Representative of the Women’s Studies Coordinating Committee, and a tutor for the college, where the majority of those she tutored were ESL students. After graduating with a dual degree in English and Women’s Studies, Ms. Sheehan’s first job was as a ghost writer for government officials. Other positions included Supervisor and writer for a pharmaceutical company’s telephone inquiry line, Associate Director of Financial Aid for a local college, telemarketer and weekend leasing property manager. Once Dawn learned she could make a lot of money by just talking to people, she started her career in advertising sales with the Baltimore & Washington Business Journals, staying in the Top 25 across the country in sales and was a frequent speaker at their nationwide sales meetings. She then moved on to assist with the start up of SmartCEO and SmartWoman Magazines. Burned out from the advertising world, Dawn created her position with Express Auctions and brought in approximately $800,000 in commissions in less than 6 months, a record for any salesperson with the company. WIRE© was created in 2003 when Ms. Sheehan became aware that there was no women’s real estate networking group in the Greater Baltimore /DC Metro area. Today, WIRE© has over 100 members and has had many notable speakers, including Melanie Sabelhaus, former Deputy Administrator of the SBA, Maria Boren, a candidate from “The Apprentice,” and Wendy Blair, a prominent local female developer. Ms. Sheehan has been a guest auctioneer for MAREIA, the Historic Charles Street Association and some smaller organizations. She is a graduate of the Network 2000 Mentorship program, a member of the Center Club and on the committee for SmartCEO’s Bravo! Businesswomen awards. Additionally, she has been featured in Baltimore Magazine’s “Upfront” section, a guest bartender at the Center Club’s monthly Happy Hours, a guest speaker for Renovating Woman’s magazine’s DIY program, the Women’s Wine & Dine, and roundtable host for local real estate investment groups. In her spare time, she is planning a wedding and enjoys spending time with her pets and working out. Vice President Leslea Knauff, Realtor, Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage lesleak@aol.com 410-823-6111 A Towson University graduate, Ms. Knauff previously had her own accounting firm and dealt with high-level clients, such as publishers and non-profits. Having been a licensed realtor since 1997, Leslea is an ABR, Accredited Buyer's Representative, and is working on her CCIM, Certified Commercial Investment Member. The majority of her clients are investors, but she has also transacted sales in residential, land, lots and farms. Ms. Knauff is passionate about her children and loves to share her knowledge of real estate. 2nd VP WIRE Baltimore Laura Randall, Principal, World Capital Lending 410-472-4810 Born and raised in the Baltimore area, Laura attended the University of Baltimore. Majoring in Real Estate, she graduated in 1993. She then began her career in mortgage banking as a Loan Office, while acquiring and renovating homes in the area. She served as Vice President of a local bank before forming World Capital Lending, assisting clients with renovation and construction loans, while continuing to manage her personal real estate portfolio of 15 units. In addition to WIRE, she serves on the board of the Southeast CDC and God’s Economy. Secretary Victoria Gagne, President, Charm City Investors gagne.vg@verizon.net 410-728-0670 A woman with many interests, Ms. Gagne' began her career in New York, working in the humanities, and eventually assisted with information systems. This became an area where there was much opportunity to work in the healthcare industry, and she designed, developed, and implemented healthcare start-up systems, in several Eastern and Mid-Western states. Having transplanted to Baltimore, real estate investing soon became a passion as a result of her renovation and rehabs. Additionally, Victoria held a NY Realtor License for many years. Ms. Gagne' lives in West Baltimore and is interested in developing that area. Seasoned Investor Liason Laura McNabney, Local Investor lnmpropertiesllc@earthlink.net A world traveler, Ms. McNabney graduated with a BS from Northwestern University in 1986 and an MS in Physiology in 1990, having worked in hospitals and health care clinics and as a medical volunteer in India and Guatemala. Laura eventually found a mentor and heeded her advice, rehabbing properties and renting single family homes in "upcoming" neighborhoods, which are now considered "hot" neighborhoods by the real estate community. Her family is her main focus, but she also loves to travel and took a world tour with her husband in 1994. Representative Ann Wargo, Owner Complete Home Renovations A native Texan, Ann-Marie Wargo began her career in real estate while still in High School with the purchase of her first building lot. Within a year, she personally assisted in each stage of the construction of her first home. By 23, she had built and project managed the construction of five new homes within Maryland. Eventually, her knowledge and skills expanded to include commercial property management to complement her construction background. She opened her own contracting company in 2002 with a potfolio of real estate to almost $2 million dollars. Ms. Wargo`s background includes raw land development, permitting and variance hearing processes, construction loans and inspections, estimate preparation, new home construction, general home renovation, historic renovation, commerical leasing & property management, residential rental property management, as well as & breakfast management. Ann-Marie is one of WIRE`s new board members. She lives in Pasadena with her husband, three children and two border collies. When she is not looking for real estate deals, she jet skis, cooks & bakes, enjoys gardening, travel and personal fitness. In her past life, she was a pastry chef. Honorary Male Representative George Divel, VP of Investments, Financial Advisor, Global Wealth Advisors 410-633-2338 A graduate of Towson University, George has been providing investment advice to clients since 1998. In addition to his General Securities (Series 7) license, he holds his Uniform Securities Agent (Series 63), NASAA Investment Advisors Law Exam (Series 65) and Managed Futures (Series 31) registrations. Prior to joining GunnAllen, he was a financial advisor with Morgan Stanley in Baltimore, where he received the firm’s National Sales Director Award, Sales Excellence Award, and was a member of the Director’s Club. Additionally, while at Morgan Stanley, George was the youngest associate to achieve Vice President status. Principal Legal Counsel Anne Johnson, Special Counsel, Saul Ewing, LLP Ms. Johnson is a graduate of Allegheny College and University of North Carolina School of Law with a concentration in general business law, commercial transactions, and real estate. She routinely counsels small to mid-sized businesses regarding general business planning, in addition to structuring & negotiating complex commercial transactions. Ms. Johnson is currently on the Advisory Board of Family & Children's Services, United Way Women's Initiatives, Former member and President for WEB, and Former member and Mayoral Appointee for the Workforce Investment Board of Baltimore City. Recently, Ms. Johnson participated in Leadership of Maryland. Advisor Patricia Anne Moore, Owner, Aztec Construction, LLC Ms. Moore started working in home improvements over 20 years ago in Fairfax, VA. Aztec Construction LLC was formed three years ago and specializes in major residential remodels and also does the majority of design work on the homes. In addition to running the business, Ms. Moore is passionate about real estate investing and past investments have been in Delaware and Virginia. Currently, she is looking at the DC market for condo conversions and some neighborhoods in Baltimore. When she is not busy on major projects, Ms. Moore enjoys traveling with her family. Patricia Moore was chosen as the 2nd Chair of WIRE© due to her enthusiasm and interest in the real estate market as well as her business network of contacts. She has offered many suggestions already for speakers of WIRE© DC Metro and will be the Inaugural Speaker for the November Meeting of WIRE© DC Metro.
