About WIRE
WIRE, the Women Investors or Real Estate Group, was founded October 23, 2003 in the conference room of Express Real Estate Auctions. Dawn Sheehan, Sales Coordinator for Express, brought together a group of women with diverse professional backgrounds, but all had one commonality: they were real estate investors who were passionate about women's roles in real estate investing.
On this day, the group of women created a mission statement, scheduled their first speaker, and determined meeting dates, times, and chose to have the meetings at various locations throughout the greater Baltimore Metro area to promote the city and its counties. The first WIRE meeting was scheduled for December 3, 2004 and featured Anne Riggle, President, International Assets Group, LLC. Ms. Riggle was also named Chairperson of WIRE, and the positions of the Board Members were agreed upon.
To date, WIRE has grown to over 50 members and plans are under way to expand into other metro areas.
Mission Statement
The Women Investors of Real Estate Group (WIRE) was created to provide a networking resource for the women of Baltimore and the Greater Baltimore Metro area, to educate and provide valuable resources and speakers to aid women in a greater understanding of investing in residential and commercial real estate in the city and its surrounding areas.
